Students from Athenry Vocational School have compiled a recipe book including recipes from famous people.
The aim of the book is to raise awareness of Autism in Post Primary schools and to promote inclusion in the community.
The recipe book will be launched next Thursday in Gairmscoil Mhuire, Athenry by Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh.

Does your child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) experience sleep problems or gastrointestinal symptoms?
Arlene Mannion, a phD student in the NUI, Galway is conducting a study with Dr. Geraldine Leader on gastrointestinal symptoms and sleep problems.
Some children with autism have both sleep problems and gastrointestinal symptoms, while other children have one of these issues or none at all. The Irish Centre for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Research in the National University of Ireland is interested in hearing your experiences with your child or adolescent aged 3 to 17 years with autism.
Arlene is interested in understanding how sleep problems and gastrointestinal symptoms affect both child and parent. Even if your child doesn’t have sleep or gastrointestinal problems they can learn a lot from your information on why some children have these issues and others do not.

Niamh McDevitt is a neuroscientist that works as part of the Trinity Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders Research Group. Niamh is currently running a study that looks at how Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) overlaps with Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) and is comparing these two disorders through behavioural measures and EEG.
The aim of this work is to be able to distinguish children with different developmental disorders from each other, as well as from typically developing children earlier than is now currently possible.
Niamh is looking for male and female participants aged 6-18 years with a diagnosis of ASD or FXS, as well as those unaffected by these disorders.
