Please read the below information regarding research that you may wish to participate in:
Shane McNutt, is a Master’s student at the University of Strathclyde. Shane is currently conducting research for his dissertation, which explores how Autistic adults experience emotional tears.
The study aims to explore the role of adult emotional tears from the perspective of Autistic individuals. Adult emotional tears are a universal human experience that accompany the most important moments in our lives. This study aims to explore adult tears from a rich lived experience as an Autistic adult and hopefully individual’s insights will help enable a greater understanding of this seldom explored and little understood experience.
Shane is looking for Autistic individuals aged 18 and over who would be willing to take part in a short research interview. The study involves a semi-structured interview conducted via Zoom, lasting approximately 25 minutes.
With your consent, the interview will be audio and video recorded to ensure that your responses are accurately captured for analysis. These recordings will be stored securely and used solely for research purposes. All data will be anonymised during transcription, and any identifying information will be removed. You may choose to keep your camera off if you prefer, and you can withdraw from the study at any time without giving a reason.
