Diane Jordan is completing a Doctorate in Child and Educational Psychology with the Tavistock and Portman Institute in London. Diane is doing a research study focusing on the experience of teenage girls with Autism who attempt to mask social difficulties.

The research aims to learn more from teenage girls with Autism about their experiences of masking social difficulties in some settings. The aim is to find out how girls learn to mask, when they choose to mask difficulties, and the impact that has on them. It is hoped that undertaking this research will help gain a better understanding of how girls with Autism cope with social challenges; it is also hoped that this understanding will help families and professionals support girls in addressing any difficulty relating to masking social difficulties.
