James White is currently undertaking a Master of Social Science in Social Policy & Social Justice in University College Cork. James is conducting a qualitative descriptive study. The central question underpinning the study is “Does the Neurodiversity Paradigm Risk Minimising the Struggles Faced by Some Neurodivergent Individuals?”. The study seeks to examine the experiences of parents/guardians of neurodivergent individuals with higher support needs, who, at present, have not had their voice heard greatly in the published literature.
Who can take part in this study

• The person you care for has moderate to high support needs
• Are aged 18 or over
• Can take part in an interview in English
What will it involve
• A confidential one-to-one interview (45–60 minutes)
• In person or online (Zoom/MS Teams – your choice)
• Questions about your experiences with neurodiversity, services, and family life
• You may withdraw at any time without giving a reason
