Understanding Caregiver Experiences in the Parents of Autistic Children.
Please read the below information regarding research that you may wish to participate in:

Leah Ward is a final-year student in the part-time BA (Honours) Psychology programme at the National College of Ireland. As part of her Final-Year Project, Leah is carrying out an independent research project – Understanding Caregiver Experiences in Parents of Autistic Children.
Leah is conducting the study to gain experience in psychological research and contribute to the understanding of gender norms, stress and caregiving experiences in parents of autistic children. The study explores the relationship between gender norms and parents’ experiences of stress and caregiving responsibilities.
You can participate in this research if you are the mother or father of a child under 18 who has received a formal autism diagnosis. You must be a primary or co-primary caregiver, fluent in English, and able to complete an online survey.
If you have more than one autistic child, please answer the questions with one child in mind, preferably the child with the highest level of support needs.
If you agree to participate, you will complete an anonymous online survey. This includes demographic questions and questions relating to gender norms, stress and caregiving experiences.
The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. All questions must be answered in order to submit your responses.
You do not have to take part in this study. Participation is entirely voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any time before submitting your responses, without explanation. However, because the survey is anonymous and no identifying information is collected, it will not be possible to withdraw your data once it has been submitted.
If you have any questions about any aspect of this study, you can contact the researcher at the National College of Ireland: Leah Ward – x22144056@ncirl.ie
