Research Study

The Effects of Creative Art Therapy on the Emotional and Social Skills of Autistic children.

Please read the below information regarding research that you may wish to participate in:

Sydney Brannen, is a final year medical student at UCC, and is conducting a survey-based research project regarding the Effects of Creative Art Therapy on the Emotional and Social Skills of Autistic children.
Sydney would like your help to understand how you feel creative art therapy has helped your children with their diagnosis, if you and your child felt comfortable. Sydney would be grateful if your child could give their views on how art therapy has helped them also.

Should you wish to take part you will be asked to complete a short online questionnaire anonymously. This will take approximately 20 minutes. If your child is between the ages of 12-17, they will also be invited to complete their own short online questionnaire. They do not need to complete it, even if you are taking part. If they so wish, their questionnaire will take approximately 10 minutes.

There are 3 questionnaires available:

  • Questionnaire for parents of children aged 3 to 11 – further information and a link to the survey can be viewed here.
  • Questionnaire for parents of children aged 12 to 17 – further information and a link to the survey can be viewed here.
  • If your child is aged between 12 and 17 years old and is interested in completing their own questionnaire, please provide them with the additional information sheet which you can find here. The link to access their survey is as follows https://ucc.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_dotZGxIzZwzl7Aa

Your participation is voluntary and you are free to withdraw at any time.
