RESEARCH STUDY: The use of assistance/service dogs from a human rights and animal welfare perspective

Please read below information regarding research that you may wish to participate in;

Zsuzsanna Kiss is a research student studying for her Master’s Degree at the Institute of Technology Carlow. She is a President’s Research Fellowship Student and is carrying out a research study on the use of assistance dogs.

The purpose of her study is to see how assistance dogs help people with various needs and how they benefit people’s lives. The findings of the research will help gain more insight into how dogs assist people and what improvements could be done.

She would like to invite people, children and adults, to take part in an interview. The interview will take about 25-45 minutes, depending on the age and/or ability of the participants. The interview will be audio-recorded. The recorded text will be transcribed and participants can read the transcript any time during the research.

The participation in this research is voluntary. Volunteering participants may withdraw at any time without consequences. They also may refuse to answer any question they do not want to answer.

If you wish to participate in this research, please contact Zsuzsanna at the following email address
